A storm of light once took me and graceful was it's thrust Across land and sea she carried us A man can see only so far before what's near turns blurry But a man can yearn with fiery lust Yet the pain of heart is eased by none But a man can love the burn of the flame Where does the soul's journey transform Into a martyrdom? For my steed engulfed in flames and I'm saddled with trust That we won't ride too close - too close to the sun He who rides immolated horses Bounds forth on plumes of lead He who rides immolated horses Trades his golden mane for hair of ash He who rides immolated horses Bounds forth on plumes of lead He who rides immolated horses Gives his light to live in constant dread

"Wistful eyes breed apathy," A teacher once told me "Longing heart poisons the soul," She warned as if foretold Empathy cruelly feigned Her voice was taut with pain "Turn to God, remove your mask or your flame will turn to ash." Like the darkness inside you, you'll succumb to me (I know what you are) In the shadows you creep but there's no hiding (My hooks in your soul) Denying your pact is stealing your soul from me Watchful eyes gleam fear on me Assailant she proves to be Languishing heart under her spell Alone with none to tell Death for me - is it my end? I'm told I must repent "Help me now, or kill me - your choice." How I longed to stop her voice

It took just a moment, I felt the shape of her breath cascaded in haze Sealed across my brow, with love I embraced this shoulder to weep on hewn in front of me. A kiss of it's palm releases from it's clutching fog A shimmering grace of wings pulling away stained glass confusion to reveal in colors The scythe in my heart was put there to blossom and it pared my center in two Ask me to face the grace of God his love looked nothing like you A kiss of it's palm releases from it's clutching fog A shimmering grace of wings pulling away stained glass confusion to reveal in colors

Lark's Head 09:49
Left bare, one crooked branch Leafless, alone nothing grows there A great tree before I let the rot take hold Suspend me from your arm, let your skin fuse with my knot Rail against the fight of life Don't try to hold your breath, you chose me Two stitches cheating time, alone they wept You tied the loop that binds the tension Here, I fetch this rope Wring it 'round my shoulders Here, I fetch this rope Arrange me like a lark's head Fail at last, I do concede The sweet appeal of thread seduces me This easing now I feel, a change of heart Or just a gentle plea to turn back? Left bare, one crooked branch Leafless, alone nothing grows there A great tree before I let the rot take hold Suspend me from your arm, let your skin fuse with my knot Free I am from this body But will my spirit hang eternally? The smiling face of time waits with me For the sin in life to be forgiven Here, I fetch this rope Wring it 'round my shoulders Here, I fetch this rope Arrange me like a lark's head
